Teresa has an MA in Zoology from Miami University of Ohio, and a background in play-based early childhood education. She completed the Cedarsong Way Forest Kindergarten Teacher Training Program in 2016. She loves fairy tales, knock-knock jokes, and adventures.
Education Farmer & chef
Audrey Todd has been the Education Farmer and Chef with The Forest Playschool the past three years. They received a B.A. in International Relations at Knox College in 2012. After graduation, Audrey taught and ran several children's summer garden programs in Iowa. Audrey has also had the pleasure of working with public and private schools in Chicago and along the North Shore teaching gardening though The Organic Gardener, Ltd for two years. Audrey plans on receiving a Forest School Teacher certification through The Forest School of Canada this year. Audrey loves word play, carrots, and using all five senses to explore the world we live in. While not in the woods, you can find them reading or swimming at the lake.
Magritte is a jewelry maker, textile worker and 3rd generation ceramicist. She is ecstatic about being the Forest Playschool’s art teacher. Magritte attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago working in Fibers & Material Studies, and is a Fellow in the Erikson Institute International Exchange Program. Magritte is currently a working artist. As an educator, she has been supporting children and adults in facilitating workshops as well as assisting other artists in large scale project execution. Magritte has been supporting children in the Arts for the last 6 years. She utilizes the wealth of natural materials that the forest has to offer in building the schools art curriculum.
